Homam Limam
Being a member of the Team GB Olympic Wrestling development Team, Homam suffered an agonizing lower back injury in his teenage years whilst training at the national training center. His chiropractic journey began here where he saw a Chiropractor in London who helped him get back on the mat and competing again. 8 years later, after a turbulent yet empowering journey as a student athlete, Homam graduated with an integrated Masters in Chiropractic whilst still competing in Olympic Wrestling internationally. Outside of his sporting career Homam is also a UKCC level 2 Wrestling coach for both kids and adults at his Wrestling club in London.
Naturally, Homam has a special interest in Sports Chiropractic. As with any athlete he has faced a number of hurdles along the way having endured two consecutive ACL reconstructions and a bucket handle meniscus repair on the same knee as well as an MCL tear injury on his other side. His experience firsthand as a patient combined with his knowledge of functional anatomy and research into exercise rehabilitation have all contributed to his competence in treating peripheral joints in a more holistic manner, considering causes further along the human kinetic chain.
Homam uses a combination of Chiropractic manipulation, active release techniques, mobilisations and other soft tissue techniques. Having also studied the McTimoney Technique at university he is also able to perform more gentle techniques which best suit the patients’ needs. He is currently registered with the General Chiropractic Council and United Chiropractic Association.
Homam is a firm believer of patient centered care and is extremely driven to change people’s lives no matter their age or activity levels, just as the profession has changed his.
